Cody Rhodes Receives Special Gift At WWE Japan Live Event (VIDEO)
Cody Rhodes received a very cool gift during a WWE live event that paid tribute to his legendary father Dusty Rhodes.
The WWE roster in a three-show tour of Japan on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. As a fighting Undisputed WWE Champion, Cody Rhodes is there to put on great matches and entertain the fans like he does all over the world.
At the WWE live event in Tokyo, Japan, Cody Rhodes was in the ring when a man appeared with a colorful ring jacket that said “Dusty” on it along with a hat. It was an outfit that belonged to Cody’s legendary WWE Hall of Fame father, the late, great Dusty Rhodes.
There were “Dusty” chants as Cody extended his arms as the man and WWE Producer Shane Helms put the colorful jacket on Cody. They also put the hat on Cody as well. After putting on the hat, Cody ran around the ring like his father and kissed the mat as well, which was his way of paying tribute to his late father, Dusty Rhodes.
It is obvious from seeing the video that the gift meant a lot to Cody because of how influential his father was not just in his life, but in pro wrestling as well.

Cody Rhodes Sends A Message To Solo Sikoa On WWE SmackDown
The July 26th episode of WWE Smackdown from Omaha was a taped show, but Cody Rhodes was featured by doing a promo from somewhere in Japan. One week earlier on Smackdown, Cody was driven through the commentary table by The Bloodline while his two biggest allies Randy Orton and Kevin Owens have been taken out in back to back weeks.
On Smackdown, Cody talked about how finished the story at WrestleMania 40 by becoming the WWE Champion. Cody said he thought that The Bloodline was no more, but he was wrong. Cody talked about how The Bloodline has feasted on anybody in front of them. Cody said that his allies like Randy Orton and Kevin Owens were destroyed trying to fight by Cody’s side. Cody also admitted that the deck was stacked against him. Cody spoke about how he’s the champion who has to bring his fire and passion to the fight.
Cody spoke about how Solo Sikoa is a dangerous man who has stepped up. Cody said that he needs to see what kind of man Solo is. Cody challenged Solo to face Cody in the ring next week one on one. Cody wondered if Solo was ready while saying in this moment of solitude, Cody knows that he (Cody) is ready.
Later in the show, WWE did confirm that Cody Rhodes and Solo Sikoa will go face to face on the August 2nd edition of Smackdown in Cleveland. That episode of Smackdown will take place just one night before Cody defends the WWE Title against Solo at SummerSlam on August 3rd in what may be considered Cody’s most difficult title defense thus far.
