Cody Rhodes Shockingly Pinned On WWE Raw

Cody Rhodes will be in the main event of WWE Raw for the second year in a row but now he’s suffered an unlikely loss on Raw.

Cody Rhodes booked his place in the main event of WrestleMania 40 by winning the men’s Royal Rumble match for the second year in a row. After some uncertainty once The Rock became involved, Cody Rhodes will challenge Roman Reigns in the main event for the WWE Universal Championship meaning that match joins a rare club that has headlined WrestleMania two years in a row.

However, Cody Rhodes has to get to Philadelphia in one piece and he hit a major stumbling block on Raw in Anaheim, California thanks to Drew McIntyre and The Bloodline.

Drew McIntyre Pins Cody Rhodes With Unlikely Help

Rhodes and McIntyre clashed in the opening match on Raw and with Rhodes in the ascendency The Bloodline’s Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa interfered with Sikoa spiking Rhodes which allowed Drew McIntyre to nail him with the Claymore to pick up the pinfall win.

McIntyre looked conflicted due to his own issues with The Bloodline but in a later interview on the show he said he was now seeing the bigger picture as he set his sights on a win at the Elimination Chamber and an eventual shot at the World Heavyweight Championship.

The Bloodline’s tactics may well have backfired as while Rhodes was being checked by a trainer, Seth Rollins greeted him with a knowing look as they could well be set for a huge WrestleMania tag team match together.
