Cody Rhodes Scheduled For WWE Money In The Bank
Cody Rhodes has not been seen in WWE since WrestleMania, but it seems plans are in place for the star at Money In The Bank.
At WrestleMania 41, John Cena defeated Cody Rhodes to win his historic 17th World Title. Cean didn’t win the match alone as Travis Scott distracted The American Nightmare just as he was closing in on victory. While Rhodes dropped Scott with a Cross Rhodes, the rap star recovered and pulled the referee out of the ring just as Cena looked beaten.
Rhodes was able to keep the upper hand, but his refusal to hit Cena with the title belt cost him when the veteran hit him with a low blow and nailed him with the belt to claim the win.
Cody Rhodes has not been seen since that loss but has been advertised to appear on the May 16 edition of SmackDown. However, that has not been announced on WWE television, and Rhodes has been pulled from other tapings he was originally slated for.
Money In The Bank For Cody Rhodes?
Whenever he returns, however, it seems WWE might have plans for him that revolve around Money In The Bank. Discussing Rhodes on WrestleVotes Q&A, it was noted that he is scheduled to be part of Money In The Bank on June 7th:
I do believe he’s still scheduled to be a part of the Money in the Bank show. Don’t know if he’s wrestling, don’t know if that’s when his return will happen. But as far as I know, he will be in Los Angeles for that PLE.
It should be noted that pitches were made in WWE for Cody Rhodes to be involved in Backlash, but that show came and went without The American Nightmare.
