Cody Rhodes Roughed Up After WWE Bad Blood Attack

Cody Rhodes suffered a shock attack after Bad Blood at the hands of Kevin Owens and now it seems the WWE Champion was left in rough shape.

In a move that appeared impossible at one time in the not-too-distant past, Cody Rhodes joined forces with Roman Reigns to take on The Bloodline at Bad Blood. While the alliance is uneasy at best, the pair got the win thanks to a helping hand from a returning Jimmy Uso.

Reigns and Uso saved Cody Rhodes from a further assault at the hands of The Bloodline before The Rock made his shock return to the company to stare down Reigns and Rhodes. No more physicality took place on the show but Rhodes’ night was far from done.

For several weeks the tension between Kevin Owens and the American Nightmare has been growing. During their match at Bash In Berlin, a conflicted Owens listened to the angel on his shoulder and refused to attack Rhodes’ injured knee, a decision that cost him the match.

WWE Thrilled With Cody Rhodes Beating

After Bad Blood, fans captured footage of Owens confronting Rhodes in the parking lot, and while it’s unclear what was said between them, KO poked his one-time friend before attacking him. The brawling pair were quickly interrupted by security who pulled them apart.

Triple H has vowed to deal with the incident but now one report has suggested how those at the top of WWE really feel about the headline-grabbing angle.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reported that WWE is very happy with how the attack played out as it generated a lot of buzz and gave the impression of something spontaneous happening. It was also noted that Cody Rhodes was a little roughed up after the spot, however, he did appear on Raw to have a showdown with Gunther ahead of their clash at Crown Jewel for WWE’s newest championship.
