Cody Rhodes Returns To Set Up Money In The Bank Clash

Cody Rhodes

Cody Rhodes is back.

In the headline bout at Saturday Night’s Main Event on May 24, Jey Uso put the World Heavyweight Championship on the line against Logan Paul.

With the bout flying towards a conclusion, Uso appeared to have the match won, only for John Cena to pull the referee out of the ring. The Undisputed WWE Champion then began to attack Uso, only to be thwarted by a returning Cody Rhodes.

The American Nightmare flattened Cena with Cross Rhodes before avoiding a brass knuckles shot from Paul thanks to a well-timed Spear from Uso. This allowed him to follow up with a Uso Splash to retain his title.

After the match, Rhodes grabbed a microphone and said that while Paul had a partner in Cena, he has a brother in Jey Uso. He then challenged the pair to a tag team match at Money In The Bank.

There have been reports that Travis Scott would also be involved in the match, but at least for the time being, he will stay on the sidelines.

Cody Rhodes Out For Revenge

The appearance from Rhodes was his first since he lost the Undisputed WWE Championship to Cena at WrestleMania 41. In the main event of night two, with a helping hand from Travis Scott, Cena flattened Rhodes with a shot with the title belt and a thunderous low blow to claim a record 17th World Title win.

Since then, Cena has repeatedly vowed to ruin wrestling before retiring as the last real World Champion.

Earlier at Saturday Night’s Main Event, Cena beat R-Truth in a non-title match, again following a low blow.
