Cody Rhodes Reveals Whether He Still Respects Seth Rollins
Cody Rhodes had some nice things to say about Seth Rollins going into their WWE Crown Jewel showdown.
At WWE Crown Jewel on October 11th in Perth, Australia, two of WWE’s stars will clash for the Men’s Crown Jewel Championship. It’s a match that will see the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes face off against the World Heavyweight Champion, Seth Rollins.
In the build up to Crown Jewel, Cody and Seth have had in-ring segments where they exchanged words. They were also featured in lengthy video packages that aired on Raw, including this past Monday, when it focused on the Cody/Seth friendship that emerged in recent years, after their initial 2022 rivalry.
During an interview with ESPN’s First Take, Cody was asked about his feelings towards Seth and whether he respected the World Champion.
“There will always be respect and I don’t think anyone in WWE, outside of me, has the passion that Seth Rollins has for WWE. I feel like we’re neck and neck in terms of that. And with everybody that comes to WWE, all the NIL athletes, everyone who’s learning the industry from the ground up, that’s somebody you should look to as a role model because Seth is as passionate about this as anybody has ever been.”
Cody Rhodes Wants To Win Another Crown Jewel Ring
The winner of the Cody Rhodes-Seth Rollins Crown Jewel match gets to hold a massive Crown Jewel Championship belt, but they also get a Crown Jewel ring that Cody has worn on television.
In the same interview on ESPN, Cody also matter-of-factly stated that Seth can’t beat him, as Cody had beaten Seth three times in 2022. It led to Cody referencing the NFL’s Buffalo Bills, who lost four straight Super Bowls in the 1990s.
“I’d say the big motivation is the big ring right here (shows the Crown Jewel ring). Once you get one of the Crown Jewel Championships, you keep that one forever. So, I got more digits here. I want to add another ring. And the best way to look at it is Seth’s a lot like those Bills teams that were going to the Super Bowls from the 90s. You thought, no way do they lose one, then two, then three, oh my gosh, maybe four in a row.
Seth just…he doesn’t have what it takes to beat me. Nothing but respect for Seth Rollins, but I’m looking to take home another one of these rings.”
