Cody Rhodes Photographed Wearing Neck Brace
Cody Rhodes is back centre stage.
At Saturday Night’s Main Event, Cody Rhodes defeated Kevin Owens in the headline bout to retain the Undisputed WWE Championship. The show had a distinctly old-school feel and even featured the return of Jesse Ventura, while Rhodes made his entrance with the famous Winged Eagle Championship belt.
However, it was Owens who left with the iconic piece of WWE history.
With the match over, Owens attacked Rhodes from behind before hitting him with a Package Piledriver. As KO celebrated, Rhodes was taken out of the arena on a stretcher.
In the days after the event, WWE announced Cody Rhodes had suffered a list of spinal injuries. The update noted that Rhodes had “been officially diagnosed with axial compression of the cervical spine, as well as a cervical strain with spasm.”

After laying low following the event, Rhodes made an appearance at an event for his wife Brandi’s NakedMind Yoga & Pilates studio on December 20th. In a series of photos posted on social media, Rhodes can be seen wearing a neck brace, although it’s purely for storyline purposes.

There’s no word on when the World Champion will be back in the ring, although he’s advertised for Raw’s debut on Netflix on January 6th. Elsewhere on the show, Roman Reigns will face Solo Sikoa in Tribal Combat and Seth Rollins will finally clash with CM Punk. It’s long been rumoured that The Rock will also be in attendance.
With Rhodes out of action, Kevin Owens has declared himself the “True World Champion” and he’s planning to defend the Winged Eagle Championship belt during WWE’s holiday tour.
