Cody Rhodes Thinks Next Generation Could Learn From Unlikely WWE Star

WWE star Cody Rhodes

WWE stars need to think as big as possible according to Cody Rhodes.

Since returning to WWE in early 2022, Cody Rhodes has hit heights that once never seemed possible. Not only is he the Undisputed WWE Champion after securing one of the most emotional wins in WrestleMania, but he stands at the very top of the industry, finally out of his illustrious father’s shadow.

Rhodes has often attributed his success to wanting to make the most of every opportunity that comes his way, something that has also defined the career of Chelsea Green.

The first-ever Women’s United States Champion has been repeatedly written off, but she doesn’t know when she’s beaten. Her determination to maximise her TV time and throw herself into anything she’s given has endeared Green to fans, and as a result, she’s enjoying the best run of her career.

Cody Rhodes Talks Up Chelsea Green

During an interview on 2 Bears, 1 Cave, Rhodes paid tribute to Green, suggesting the next generation should follow her lead.

“If you come to WWE, here’s a girl named Chelsea Green. She just won the first-ever WWE Women’s US Title. She is somebody who, everything you ever give her, makes the most of it. It seems like the generation that’s coming, and I could be totally wrong, this could just be old-man speak, it doesn’t seem like they have that mindset.

I always went into it thinking the biggest I could possibly be. I met a guy, this was during my time away from WWE when I left, I remember him saying to me and my wife in the car, because he was running his own promotion, he said, ‘I don’t know why everybody thinks so big.’

In my mind, I’m like, connecting with Brandi (Rhodes) on a telepathic level. Like, ‘This guy sucks.’ Like, why wouldn’t we think big? Doesn’t mean we’re gonna hit big, but I’d rather go for it all, go all in. Go for it all, and then see where I land,”

During the same interview, Rhodes suggested he’ll end his full-time wrestling career when he’s 45, although he’d love to keep contributing to the industry beyond that.

Cody Rhodes will put the Undisputed WWE Title on the line at the Royal Rumble against Kevin Owens in a Ladder Match.
