Cody Rhodes Pitches Name For Current WWE Era
Cody Rhodes has found the perfect name for the current era of WWE.
As the fan-friendly Undisputed WWE Champion, Cody Rhodes is considered a leader in the current era of WWE. What this current era doesn’t have is an official name.
The naming of eras is something that has happened in WWE for decades whether it’s by the company itself. The 1980s was known as the Rock N Wrestling Era while also turning into the Hulkamania Era since Hulk Hogan was the top star. There was also the New Generation Era in the early 1990s, which wasn’t as successful as the best times in the company.
During the late 1990s and into the early 2000s, WWE had the beloved Attitude Era led by “Stone Cold” Steve Austin and The Rock, which was arguably the most successful period in company history. John Cena led the Ruthless Aggression Era from the mid-2000s as well.
Cody Rhodes was a guest on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon where he spoke about how well the company was doing.
“We’re in this period of time where, you know, there was the Attitude Era, there was the Ruthless Aggression Era, and now we don’t even know what to call this era of WWE.
“I feel like we should call it the Record Era because we’re just breaking records left and right.
“The new management team – Triple H, Nick Khan, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson – they’ve made it so easy for me where I’ve been dubbed The Quarterback because they just call the plays, I run the play, and hopefully we all look good.”
There’s no telling if “The Record Era” will take off as an official name or if it’s just something Cody Rhodes said during a televised interview.
