Cody Rhodes Wants Major Change To Iconic WWE Theme
Cody Rhodes has admitted he wants to change his iconic theme music in WWE with a unique idea on how to switch it up.
Since Cody Rhodes left WWE in 2016, he has used the theme music “Kingdom” by Downstait. The track is preceded by Rhodes’ voice stating “Wrestling has more than one royal family” and the music has become iconic since he returned to WWE in 2022 with fans whoa-oh-ing all over the globe.
But it seems the Undisputed WWE Champion wants to make a major change.
Cody Rhodes Wants A New Generation In His Theme Music
Speaking in a clip released for the next episode of Stephanie’s Places with Stephanie McMahon, Rhodes explained that he recorded the sample at the start of his song soon after his WWE departure and nine years later, it’s still used:
I recorded that weeks after I left WWE the first time. To this day we still use that audio sample.
But Rhodes has an idea for a change to that music that would bring in the next generation of his own family as he thinks his daughter Libby should record her own version of the intro:
My goal actually, I don’t know if she’d wanna do this. The beginning of my song, the little voiceover that exists, I’d love my daughter to do it at one point. Just because I want her to have a good experience in this.
Cody Rhodes will defend his WWE Championship against John Cena at WrestleMania 41 with Cena looking to earn his own place in history by becoming a world champion for the 17th time.
