Cody Rhodes Says Logan Paul “Won’t Be An Outsider For Much Longer”
Cody Rhodes says that Logan Paul won’t be an outsider in the wrestling business for much longer and thinks Paul is a wrestler, even if he doesn’t know it yet.
Logan Paul competed in the fourth WWE match of his career when he entered the 2023 men’s Royal Rumble match at number 29. The YouTube star lasted just over ten minutes in the match before he was eliminated by the eventual winner, Cody Rhodes.
Paul did manage to steal the show in a moment with Ricochet during the match. Both men eyed each other up from across the ring and then springboarded into one another in an almighty mid-air collision.
Speaking on WWE’s The Bump, Cody Rhodes explained his vantage point of that moment and says Paul is already a wrestler:
“I got to [see] it out of the corner of my eye, and all I could honestly think was, this novelty of Logan Paul being in a WWE ring and being an outsider, he ain’t gonna be an outsider much longer. Dude’s a wrestler. He may not know it yet, but he’s a wrestler.”
Rhodes went on to hype the fact that Logan Paul eliminated Seth Rollins from the Rumble match, with rumours swirling that Rollins and Paul could be on a collision course for WrestleMania 39:
“Seth Rollins getting eliminated by Logan Paul is one of the bigger stories I’ve ever witnessed right in front of me. This is a champion of champions, this is a future Hall of Famer, and this is a very athletic, amazing individual. YouTuber, though. He threw out Seth Rollins, so genuine shock in my heart when it happened. But also I avoided getting a pedigree because of it so weirdly, thank you Logan Paul, I guess.”
Avoiding that pedigree may have been the thing that allowed The American Nightmare to ultimately win the Rumble match and book his place in the main event of WrestleMania 39 against Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns.
