Cody Rhodes Thrilled About Working With Legendary Actor In Movie Remake
Cody Rhodes has a cameo role in a new movie that stars a legendary actor.
As the Undisputed WWE Champion, Cody Rhodes is considered by many to be the leader of the company and the biggest champion in the company.
At WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas, Cody Rhodes will put the Undisputed WWE Championship against John Cena, who was once a mentor and is now a major threat to the one-year-long title reign that Rhodes has had.
While Cody remains focused on his WWE career, he also got to film a cameo spot in The Naked Gun remake film starring Liam Neeson. It’s a remake of the classic “Naked Gun” series of films that starred the late, great Leslie Nielsen. The 2025 version of “The Naked Gun” will be in theatres on August 1st.
During an appearance on Pardon My Take, Cody spoke about his appearance in The Naked Gun while also praising Neeson.
“Yeah, I have a little cameo. I feel a little weird because they keep promoting me — You know what, I’m happy they’re promoting me, it’s pretty cool. I got to do a scene with Liam Neeson. There’s so many different things you can say, Liam Neeson this movie, Liam Neeson that movie, I’m a diehard Star Wars fan so this is Qui-Gon Jinn, this is Liam Neeson.
It’s a yes. He was the coolest guy. The way he was doing every scene, he’d take it a little differently. It was cool to chop up with him and learn from him in that moment, it was very fun.”
CM Punk Was Emotional Watching Cody Rhodes
Cody Rhodes was featured heavily during WWE’s European tour in March. Cody teamed up with CM Punk on several shows during that tour, so Punk recently talked about how proud he is to see Cody in a main event role in WWE.
“I’m just an old softy now, you know? I’ve known Cody (Rhodes) for 20 years so, again, seeing how far he’s come and just the perspective I was at. I was sitting on the ring so essentially, I had a fan’s perspective and I see Cody come out and his song and I watch him bounce back and forth from aisle to aisle.
Greeting little boys, little girls, grown ass men, grandmas, grandpa. People of all ages. Everybody who comes out to see WWE and they love him, you know? And he’s high fiving people and he’s kissing babies and to watch the crowd love him the way they love me or they love a Stone Cold or a Bret Hart, it’s just exciting to see. Because I know what that feels like and I want all my friends to succeed.
I wanna see that and I didn’t just get to see it, I got to experience it firsthand so it choked me up a little bit.”
It was announced by WWE on SmackDown in Chicago that Cody Rhodes will be returning to the blue brand on the April 11th edition of SmackDown, which is just over one week until WrestleMania 41.
