Cody Rhodes “Knows What To Expect” When The Rock Makes WWE Return
Cody Rhodes is ready.
It’s long been rumoured that Cody Rhodes will face The Rock in a huge main event at WrestleMania 41. The duo have repeatedly clashed on WWE television, and Rock pinned Rhodes in tag team action at WrestleMania 40 night one.
The Rock returned to WWE at Bad Blood, making a surprise appearance as the show went off the air. But he’s disappeared again without explanation. This was followed by reports that he might not wrestle at the 2025 spectacular, even if the man himself has told fans not to believe everything they read.
During an interview on Unlikely with Adrian Hernandez, Rhodes was asked about the speculation around The Rock’s future and claims he could miss WrestleMania 41.
“Well, I mean, I mean this and I don’t mean this in a like a smart Alec type way, but Rock is the director of the board.
The man that is The Final Boss, Dwayne Johnson, is different from The Final Boss and his outside the box thinking with Nick Khan and Triple H, is part of WWE’s record era, part of this WWE Netflix era so in whether he’s in the ring or whether he’s not, he very much is still very involved with what happens at 41.
I know when he comes back, I know who he’ll come looking for, I know what to expect. But what I can say about WrestleMania 41 is keep the rumors going, keep them churning, enjoy the discourse, but i think what you will get will surprise you all.”
Cody Rhodes Remains Confident Fans Will Be Surprised
The claim from Cody Rhodes backs up earlier comments from October where he told fans to expect the unexpected at WrestleMania 41. The star said he was unmoved by speculation around the event as long as his name was in the mix. The American Nightmare added that even hardcore fans will be surprised by what the star has in store.
Before Rhodes gets to WrestleMania, it’s been reported that he’ll defend the Undisputed WWE Title against Kevin Owens at Saturday Night’s Main Event. As the rivalry between the pair continues, it’s been announced they’ll come face-to-face on the November 22nd edition of SmackDown.
Rhodes made his most recent defence of the title on September 13th, defeating Solo Sikoa in a Cage Match on SmackDown.
