Cody Rhodes Hints At WWE Return For The Rock

WWE fans might not have seen the last of The Rock.

The Rock hasn’t been seen on WWE television since playing a key role at Elimination Chamber 2025. In the lead-up to the event, The Great One tried to get Cody Rhodes to sell him his soul, but when all was said and done, it was John Cena who turned heel.

Despite playing a major role in the storyline, The Rock claimed that John Cena’s story didn’t need him, so he decided to fade into the background.

Expectations around the Hollywood star had been high after his incredibly well-received run as the Final Boss through the early part of 2024. This led to him teaming with Roman Reigns to beat Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins at night one of WrestleMania 40.

The Rock Has Only Scratched The Surface

During an appearance on the All The Smoke podcast, Cody Rhodes discussed his admiration for The Rock while highlighting the work he did in 2024. Intriguingly, Rhodes suggested that the veteran hasn’t “scratched the surface” of his Final Boss character.

“He came back to a very tumultuous WWE, a year or so ago, and decided, nope, I’m not gonna deal with that. I’m instead gonna create a new character even though I’m already one of the greatest characters ever, that being The Final Boss… We’ve just scratched the surface on The Final Boss. There’s something incredibly special there so The Rock is on my Mount Rushmore.”

Despite his WWE absence continuing, it’s been reported that talks are underway to get The Rock back in the ring. According to that report, The Great One would net the highest payday for a single event in wrestling history should he reach an agreement to main event WrestleMania 43.
