Cody Rhodes Receives Heartfelt WWE Gift After WrestleMania

Cody Rhodes is the new face of WWE after finally finishing his story and capturing the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 40.

After a heartbreaking loss at WrestleMania 39, The American Nightmare fought his way back into the main event of WrestleMania 40 by winning the men’s Royal Rumble for the second year in a row.

In a match laced with interference, Cody Rhodes ended the historic title reign of Roman Reigns, defeating The Tribal Chief with three vicious Cross Rhodes to win the WWE Championship.

After his win, Cody Rhodes was surrounded by his loved ones and the good guys from the WWE locker room in celebration. Rhodes called out Bruce Prichard and Triple H to the ring as they had proved instrumental in bringing him back to the company.

Cody Rhodes Gets Gift To Commemorate His Father

At the post-WrestleMania press conference, Rhodes revealed he had received a very special gift from Triple H, Prichard, and WWE President Nick Khan to congratulate him for his win:

Something that I wanted to share – I came to the back, and Bruce Prichard and Triple H and Nick Khan handed me this, which is the same watch that my dad had that he pawned so that I could go to acting school. So the level of investment and responsibility that the company just put in my hands, I hope I can pay it back, pay it forward a hundred times over.

Triple H later spoke about the gift, noting that the company wanted to give Cody something to help commemorate his father as well:

We just wanted to give him something that, in some way, commemorates his dad being here when this happened because he was.

Triple H credited the idea to Nick Khan while noting Bruce Prichard was the one who “super-sleuthed down this watch that was the exact same watch that Dusty had.”
