Cody Rhodes Falls Victim To 6’5″ Ex-World Champion On WWE SmackDown

Cody Rhodes destroyed on WWE SmackDown

Cody Rhodes was taken out at the end of WWE SmackDown.

Tonight’s SmackDown kicked off with a backstage conversation between The American Nightmare and Jimmy Uso, who disclosed that he was there to speak to General Manager Nick Aldis about the mysterious attack on his cousin, Jacob Fatu.

As Rhodes later headed to the ring, he was interrupted by his Saturday Night’s Main Event challenger, Drew McIntyre. After taking shots at the Undisputed WWE Champion, The Scottish Warrior suggested Fatu’s attacker could be Jimmy. He even claimed Big Jim might have taken a page out of his wife Naomi’s playbook, referring to the latter’s backstage attack on Jade Cargill several months earlier.

McIntyre’s words did not sit well with Jimmy, who surprisingly attacked the former World Heavyweight Champion. Although they were separated by security, the fight between the two later reignited backstage. Aldis then booked them in a no-disqualification match in the main event.

Despite Jimmy’s efforts, the former Bloodline member failed to defeat The Scottish Warrior. After winning the match, however, the latter continued to beat up Big Jim. As WWE officials tried to stop McIntyre, Cody Rhodes rushed to the ring to brawl with McIntyre. The fight extended outside the ring, with the champion initially coming out on top.

Rhodes then returned to the ring to check on his friend, Jimmy Uso, not noticing McIntyre following him into the squared circle. The Scottish Warrior then took out his Saturday Night’s Main Event opponent with a Claymore to end the show.
