Cody Rhodes Fails To Hold Back Tears During Emotional Story On Camera
For Cody Rhodes, family is everything.
The second-generation wrestler is the son of “American Dream” Dusty Rhodes and the half-brother of former WWE star Dustin Rhodes (fka Goldust).
He is married to Brandi Rhodes, with whom he has a daughter named Liberty.
The Rhodes family has inspired generations, influencing various aspects of wrestling, including storytelling, promotion management, and in-ring performance.
Cody Rhodes himself became a monumental figure within the industry after co-founding All Elite Wrestling.
In the recent episode of What Do You Wanna Talk About?, Rhodes reflected on his father’s legacy and his family, which brought tears to his eyes.
I feel like he (Dusty) grew up in a generation, he kinda thrived in a genration, where it was almost IN SPITE of your family. And I don’t mean that in a, I guess, your family was supported but you were out there, you were doing it, you were living it. And we did it differently.
He was, very much, this is FOR my family. To me, he is the greatest wrestler of all time. I don’t think I got good at this, Kevin, until I had Liberty, you know.
I don’t think I saw why I wanted to do it. Everything was like, I can get ahead of him. But when I had Liberty, I thought, like, I don’t need any of that. [47:36 onwards]
Cody Rhodes’ Brother Retires Goldust
Goldust was a popular character in WWE during the late 90s and the 2000s.
Since Dustin, who portrayed Goldust, left the Stamford-based company in 2019, Goldust has never been seen.
The recent introduction of Mr Iguana at AAA Worlds Collide generated interest among fans to see more quirky characters, and Goldust’s name came up.
Dustin took to X to address the potential return of the Bizarre One.
Goldust is retired. Sorry. Happy where I am at 💯 https://t.co/ThPkrYN96F
