Cody Rhodes Responds To Ex-WWE Star’s Son Vowing To Retire Him

Cody Rhodes has been left blindsided after the son of a former WWE star vowed to retire the star.

Cody Rhodes has been at the apex of his wrestling career ever since he rejoined WWE in 2022. Rhodes reached his ultimate goal of becoming WWE Champion at WrestleMania 40, one year after the heartbreak of failing to finish his story at WrestleMania 39.

Since rejoining the company he walked away from in 2016, Rhodes has headlined three WrestleManias in a row, putting him on the same pedestal as the likes of Hulk Hogan, The Rock, Triple H, John Cena, and Roman Reigns. At WrestleMania 41, Rhodes lost the WWE Title to John Cena but reclaimed that gold at SummerSlam 2025.

At the age of 40, there seems to be no rush for The American Nightmare to think about winding down his career, but the son of an ex-WWE star has vowed to be the one to retire Rhodes.

Brodie Lee Jr. – the son of the late Mr Brodie Lee, known as Luke Harper in WWE – wants to be the one to retire Rhodes, and it seems the news has blindsided the WWE Champion.

Responding to the comment on social media, Rhodes wondered who was working on Lee’s publicity, tagging his mother, Amanda Huber:

Cody Rhodes had the final match of Mr Brodie Lee’s career as he recaptured the TNT Title from Lee in a dog collar bout. If Brodie Lee Jr. gets his wish one day to retire Rhodes, then that will complete that circle.
