Did Cody Rhodes Fake Emotional Breakdown After John Cena’s Retirement?

Cody Rhodes crying after John Cena's WWE retirement

Cody Rhodes was one of the many people present ringside during John Cena’s final moments in WWE. Almost the entire locker room had come out to be ringside and pay a tribute to The Champ.

The match ended in shock when John Cena tapped out against Gunther. However, fans have theorized that tapping out was his way of accepting that he had done everything one could in WWE and is now passing the torch.

On the other hand, some have claimed that the final match should have been heroic and not show Never Seen 17 as a man who would tap out.

Cody Rhodes shared an emotional interview afterwards

The American Nightmare was the only one left ringside after John Cena went backstage. He was looking at the sneakers and armbands that The Champ left in the ring, and possibly trying to come to terms with his retirement.

A visibly emotional Rhodes was approached by Jackie Redmond for an interview, and the Undisputed WWE Champion poured his heart out about John Cena and what the man represented in the wrestling industry.

Jackie Redmond has since revealed that the interview was not a planned moment. Since Cody Rhodes was the only one standing ringside after everyone left, she took the opportunity to ask him about how he was feeling in that moment.

Hand to god, it really was not planned. Cody was having a moment and was gracious enough to share it with us. Class act.

The stories in WWE will continue. Superstars will continue to put up shows and only aim to achieve what John Cena has achieved in WWE. One can expect the world champions to address John Cena in the upcoming weekly shows.
