Cody Rhodes Defended By AEW Star After Controversial Comments

Cody Rhodes

One AEW star has come to the defence of Cody Rhodes after Rhodes’ recent remarks shed light on some of his issues in the company he helped form.

Cody Rhodes and The Young Bucks were the driving forces behind the formation of AEW in early 2019 following the success of their self-funded All In show in the fall of 2018. With Tony Khan’s financial backing, AEW was born with Rhodes, The Bucks, and Kenny Omega being named as Executive Vice Presidents of the company as well as on-screen talent.

Rhodes ultimately became the first EVP to make the jump to WWE in 2022 and since then he has gone from strength to strength becoming WWE Champion after back-to-back Royal Rumble wins and three WrestleMania main events in two years.

Cody Rhodes admitted one detail revealed by The Young Bucks about the formation of AEW left him unhappy and The American Nightmare admitted he always knew he’d leave AEW before the company was even formed.

These comments of course caught fire with wrestling fans committed to both WWE and AEW and now AEW’s QT Marshall has come to Rhodes’ defence on social media and says despite him being on top of WWE he’s still showing class and respect to AEW:

Tell people to stop asking him about it. If you can’t handle his responses, don’t ask the questions. The responses he gives are some the most politically correct responses. He’s sitting on top of the opposition, and still keeps his responses classy.

Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes recently set out a huge SummerSlam challenge as he looks to take the fight to The Bloodline after their recent brutal attacks.
