Cody Rhodes Dances Around Questions On Vince McMahon

Vince McMahon

Cody Rhodes has been asked about Vince McMahon.

Vince McMahon has been back in the news again after it was announced that a docuseries on his life and career will premiere on Netflix on September 25th.

The makes of the six-part series have promised that it will “pull back the curtain” on the disgraced former WWE boss, covering his “rise and fall.” When the project was first discussed in 2020, it was claimed that WWE would be involved in production, but that is no longer the case.

It has also been revealed that neither Janel Grant nor her legal team has been interviewed for the documentary. In January 2024, former WWE employee Janel Grant filed a lawsuit against Vince McMahon, John Laurinaitis, and WWE. The lawsuit contained allegations of sexual assault and sex trafficking.

Cody Rhodes Treads Carefully On Vince McMahon Allegations

With Triple H flying back to the United States to be with his eldest daughter as she moves to college, Cody Rhodes was front and centre at the Bash In Berlin post-show. During the press conference, Rhodes was asked whether he’d be watching the new documentary, and about why the locker room has been “awfully quiet” on the allegations made by Grant.

“In terms of, am I going to watch it? Not to sound cheeky by any means. I am deep in a Game of Thrones re-watch. That is a hell of a commitment. I think there is a bit of misinformation in terms of WWE has no involvement in this documentary, as far as I know. I would imagine I would get around to seeing it.

In terms of the more serious and the meat of your question, the locker room being quiet or silent. I don’t think that’s a matter of belief versus non-belief. I think, strictly speaking, we want to be doing what we were doing out there.

The focus and attention that it takes to have a great story and have a great match, and do that every single night, has left most of us to where we’re finding the information out just as you are.

“That includes the resolution of this information. In terms of what happened, how it happened, and how justice comes about. Whatever it might be. I wouldn’t look at it as an active attempt from the locker room to be silent. We are just doing what we do day-to-day WWE business.”

When pressed again with a follow-up question about whether he believed Janel Grant, Rhodes said he didn’t know enough about the situation to give an adequate response.

“I don’t know enough about the information to give a good enough answer. I’m sorry,”

At Bash In Berlin, Cody Rhodes retained his Undisputed WWE Title with a win over Kevin Owens.
