After the show ended, a backstage camera caught the two world champions together backstage, sharing a special moment. WWE shared a clip on X (Twitter) where Rhodes was helping Punk to secure his championship belt around his waist. Jey Uso-CM Punk Rivalry Was Missing Heel Touch
Speaking on a recent episode of his Drive Thru podcast, Jim Cornette discussed Jey Uso and CM Punk’s rivalry for the World Heavyweight Championship. He stated he felt the rivalry was a bit bland as it lacked a heel component and some “animosity” because both the wrestlers are babyfaces.
He said, “They think that they’re doing something similar to the long Bloodline saga with this offshoot. It’s a deal of Jey, Jimmy, their interaction, and Roman’s influence on Jey. Punk is best when he’s able to cut a promo on somebody and really team him down and get into the issue. He can’t be a prick here because he’s a babyface, and so is Jey. Punk does a good promo regardless. But I want to see a mixed tag level of animosity, or the Punk-Drew or the Punk and Rollins level of animosity.”
Jey Uso has been on a quest to win a singles title ever since he lost the World Heavyweight Championship to Gunther earlier this year. It’d be interesting to see if he’ll continue his quest or leave it to start a fresh new feud with his twin brother Jimmy Uso, which has been teased in the past few weeks.
