Cody Rhodes Makes Shocking Claim About WWE Locker Room
Cody Rhodes had an “unpopular” remark about WWE money makers that could upset others in the locker room.
After holding the WWE Championship for over a year, Cody Rhodes liked to refer to himself as the “Quarterback” of WWE, a title that highlighted his leadership abilities.
During his main event run in WWE over the last three years, Cody went from being one of the most popular wrestlers in the company to arguably the most popular wrestler in all of WWE.
When somebody is in that kind of role, like Hulk Hogan, “Stone Cold,” Steve Austin, The Rock, and John Cena, to name a few, they often get the credit when business is going well, and they also get the blame when business is going poorly.
In Cody’s case, WWE business has been going very well, with sold-out shows worldwide and record profits.
Cody Rhodes had former World Champion Damian Priest as his guest on Cody’s “What Do You Wanna Talk About?” podcast. During the discussion, Cody mentioned an “unpopular thing” about the WWE business.
“This is an unpopular thing to share, but I’ll share it. If you look at a roster sheet — in any company, any company — you’d be surprised at the percentage that actually — and I’ll use the term — earn, or draw, for a company.
You’d think it’s a lot more. And then you look and it’s a small percentage. Now, it doesn’t mean people won’t, it doesn’t mean people aren’t getting there, it doesn’t mean context makes it so that a few times they do. But there’s a small percentage.”
“What A Star” – Cody Rhodes Talking About Rhea Ripley
The discussion between Rhodes and Priest also saw Rhodes praise the former Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley, who is a “Terror Twin” with Priest.
“She’s also one who makes me want to compete — not in a stab-you-in-the-back type of way, but like, ‘Let’s go. You’re cruising? Cool. I want to be on your level. Let’s go. Every time she’s on the screen, it’s those moments of like, ‘Jeez, man. What a star. What a star.”
Cody Rhodes also revealed that he helped produce a WWE live event with Seth Rollins when weather issues prevented the actual WWE Producers from making it to the show.
