Cody Rhodes Chosen As Wrestler Of The Year By WWE Legend

The American Nightmare has been the top dog in WWE for a while now, and this WWE legend seconds that.

Cody Rhodes is the Undisputed WWE champion. Since winning the WWE title from Roman Reigns on night 2 of WrestleMania 40 and ending the OTC’s marathon title reign on 1316 days, he has had a successful run as champion in 2024 and 2025.

He has been the face of the company and is the reason many fans watch WWE. They sing every line of the lyrics in his entrance music and sing his name.

Cody Rhodes, as the Fighting Champion, caught the attention of WWE legend Matt Hardy, who named him wrestler of the year on his podcast.

On Matt Hardy’s podcast, he was giving out Hardy awards for 2025 in different categories to various wrestlers from across promotions.

Cody Rhodes was cited by Hardy as being the reason behind WWE’s possible business success.

He is the guy that has to carry the weight and carry the burden of being the guy that is the face and the flagship of WWE and if business starts sliding, he’s the guy that has to take credit for that.

Other notable wrestlers Hardy gave awards to were Mercedes Mone for Women’s wrestler of the year, Leon Slater for breakout star of the year, John Cena for comeback of the year and Seth Rollins vs. CM Punk for match of the year.
