Cody Rhodes Presents Championship To MLB Home Run Derby Winner

Cody Rhodes

Cody Rhodes is no stranger to a championship belt, but now it’s the WWE star presenting one to the winner of baseball’s annual home run competition.

Cody Rhodes held the WWE Championship for a year before he lost the gold to John Cena at WrestleMania 41. That win gave Cena the 17th world title of his career to break his tie with Ric Flair, and he has vowed in his final year as a WWE Superstar to take that title with him and retire as the Last Real Champion.

At Night of Champions, Cody Rhodes won the King of the Ring tournament to ensure he’d have a shot to reclaim the WWE Championship at SummerSlam.

But before that, Cody Rhodes has been handing out a title belt to someone else.

Cody Rhodes Congratulates Big Dumper

The American Nightmare was on hand for the MLB Home Run Derby at Truist Park on Monday evening to present winner “Big Dumper” Cal Raleigh with a custom WWE title belt.

The belt itself featured the WWE logo on the face and side plates, as well as featuring the MLB logo and the Home Run Derby’s sponsor, T-Mobile’s logo.

A catcher for the Seattle Mariners, Cal Raleigh won the Home Run Derby with 54 total home runs, and he defeated Tampa Bay Rays’ Junior Caminero 18-15 in the final round. As well as the title belt presented by Cody Rhodes, Raleigh took home $1 million for the win.
