What Has Cody Rhodes Been Doing Since John Cena Defeat?
Cody Rhodes hasn’t been rushing back to the ring.
At WrestleMania 40, Cody Rhodes finally finished his story as he defeated Roman Reigns to become Undisputed WWE Champion. However, 12 months later, that crowning moment and huge celebration seemed a lifetime away.
On the second night of WrestleMania 41, Rhodes was pinned by John Cena as the veteran claimed his record 17th World Championship.
Rhodes appeared to be closing on victory until Travis Scott made his presence felt. Although the American Nightmare managed to hit Scott with a Cross Rhodes, the Hip Hop star later pulled the referee out of the ring as the champion looked to retain his title.
However, Rhodes’ desire to do the right thing proved to be his downfall as he refused to hit Cena with the title belt. This allowed Cena to land a low blow and his own shot with the belt to snatch the win.
Rhodes was last seen heading back to his tour bus with wife Brandi after turning down a backstage interview.
Cody Rhodes Has Taken A Break
While Cena was quickly back in front of the cameras on Monday Night Raw, Rhodes has seemingly taken a step back. According to a report on WrestleVotes Radio, Rhodes was spotted at Hollywood Studios in Florida with his family, as he takes some well-deserved time off.
“I got a little scoop for you guys. I know exactly where Cody was earlier this week. And this is a shoot, he was in Hollywood Studios in Florida with his family at the theme parks, traveling, going on rides, and taking it all in as a father to his daughter.
I happen to have somebody down there that ran up and got a selfie with him. So I know for a fact he was with his family enjoying some well-deserved time off.”
Rhodes is listed as a “featured Superstar” for the April 25 edition of SmackDown in Fort Worth, Texas, although he hasn’t been officially announced for the taping.
