Cody Rhodes Reveals If He’s Been Approached About Political Career

The suit-wearing WWE Champion Cody Rhodes has revealed if anybody has spoken to him about getting him into politics.

As the current Undisputed WWE Champion, Cody Rhodes is a busy guy working a full-time schedule that includes appearing at Smackdown every week while also making it out to nearly every non-televised WWE event whether it’s in North America or overseas.

When Cody Rhodes appears in a non-wrestling segment, WWE fans know he’s usually going to be wearing a suit to look professional. Cody recently took a shot at his critics who trash him for wearing a suit all the time.

During an interview with Gabby LaSpisa on her Gabby AF podcast, Cody Rhodes spoke about American politics since it’s an election while also confirming that he has been approached about getting into the political world.

“It’s funny that it’s kind of been brought up a bunch lately because as shocking as this might seem to people, both…we live in a society where it’s really like you got your Democratic Party and you got your Republican Party. So few people get to fall in the moderate range anymore, even though so many of us have a moderate mindset.”

“But I actually got approached by, I won’t say the people directly, but I got approached by individuals from both parties about potentially running for an office in Georgia. That’s probably as far as I can say. But it’s something that was really genuinely appealing.”

Cody Rhodes would go on to say that helping people is appealing to him.

“Here’s what’s appealing to me. Politics is policy. Policy is one thing to me, but the idea that you can take your sphere of influence, whatever, this modicum of fame that wrestling and sports entertainment gave me, to help people, seems like the greatest gift.”

“Again, I don’t know if it’s something…depending how long I stay in this game, I don’t want to outstay my welcome. But that’s something that’s become very appealing, especially when presented to me, the possibilities that could come.”

Based on those comments, it sounds like Cody could enter the political world at some point although it doesn’t sound like it will happen any time soon.

Cody Rhodes Agrees To Stipulation For WWE Title Match At SummerSlam

Up next for Cody Rhodes is a huge Undisputed WWE Title match against Solo Sikoa at SummerSlam on August 3rd. On WWE Smackdown from Cleveland, Solo challenged Cody to a Bloodline Rules Match, which means anybody can interfere in an Anything Goes Match. Cody agreed to it even though Solo is backed by The Bloodline’s Tama Tonga, Jacob Fatu & Tonga Loa while Cody’s good friends Randy Orton & Kevin Owens have been taken out by The Bloodline in recent weeks.
