What Happened Between Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso After SNME? [Video]

Cody Rhodes & Jey Uso at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event

Cody Rhodes is finally back.

In the headline bout at Saturday Night’s Main Event on May 24, Jey Uso defended the World Heavyweight Championship against Logan Paul.

Uso appeared to be on course for victory before John Cena pulled the referee out of the ring. Cena then proceeded to attack the champion, which brought out Cody Rhodes to save the day.

He quickly dispatched Cena the a Cross Rhodes, but was ultimately saved from taking a shot with Brass Knuckles from Paul by Uso and a well-timed Spear.

The American Nightmare had been out of action since losing the Undisputed WWE Championship to Cena at WrestleMania 41.

Cody Rhodes Full Of Praise For Jey Uso

After the show went off the air, Rhodes toasted his return by saluting World Heavyweight Champion Jey Uso. Rhodes and Uso have a lengthy history after the former played a key role in Uso leaving SmackDown and joining Monday Night Raw.

The pair went on to win the World Tag Team Championships, holding the gold for just nine days before losing them back to Damian Priest and Finn Balor in October 2023.

Earlier in the night, John Cena defeated R-Truth in a non-title match thanks to his now-signature low blow. Meanwhile, Chelsea Green suffered a broken nose as she failed to win the Women’s United States Championship from Zelina Vega.

In the opening match of the show, Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker beat CM Punk and Sami Zayn via a helping hand from Bronson Reed. The appearance was Reed’s first since he suffered a serious ankle injury at Survivor Series WarGames in November 2024.

In the show’s only other match, Damian Priest defeated Drew McIntyre with a Con-Chair-To in a bruising steel cage match. It’s been reported that McIntyre is now set to take a break from the ring, although there’s no word on when he’ll be back.
