Cody Rhodes Admits WWE Star Won’t Wrestle Much Longer
Cody Rhodes doesn’t want to miss out.
It’s been announced that Cody Rhodes will team with Randy Orton to face Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker on the October 3 edition of SmackDown.
The match was made after Orton came to Rhodes’ aid a week earlier.
Rhodes and Orton have a lengthy history going back to the mid-2000s, and they later teamed up as part of The Legacy in 2008.
During an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, Rhodes looked ahead to SmackDown and getting the chance to team with Orton. The American Nightmare compared their partnership to the Mega Powers, which was famously comprised of Hulk Hogan and “Macho Man” Randy Savage.
“It’s Randy Orton, somebody who was a mentor to me in the game. And—no spoiler—Randy is… we don’t know how much longer Randy is going to be doing this. I don’t want that to creep up on me if we didn’t get one more good old-fashioned Mega Powers-style tag with the guy who is partially responsible for me ever getting anywhere in WWE.”
Cody Rhodes Set For Crown Jewel Challenge
Meanwhile, Cody Rhodes is set to clash with Seth Rollins at Crown Jewel in Australia on October 11. The winner of the huge Champion vs. Champion match will claim the Crown Jewel Championship. Rhodes won the title in 2024 after beating Gunther.
In the battle for the Women’s Crown Jewel Championship, Stephanie Vaquer will take on Tiffany Stratton.
