CMLL Reveal Women For Wrestle Dynasty International Cup
The Wrestle Dynasty picture has gotten a little clearer.
Back in June, the creation of Wrestle Dynasty was announced, with AEW co-promoting an event on Japanese soil for the first time. The event will take place 24 hours after Wrestle Kingdom on January 5th, 2025, and will be promoted by AEW, NJPW, ROH, Stardom, and CMLL.
As the event moves closer, a new International Women’s Cup has been announced featuring stars from AEW, ROH, Stardom, and CMLL. Each promotion will hold a four-way qualifying match, with the winner going on to contest another four-way in the Tokyo Dome.
CMLL has become the first company to announce its combatants, with Zeuxis, Reyna Isis, Persephone, and Sanely competing on December 13th.
Kenny Omega Eyeing Wrestle Dynasty Comeback
The announcement came after Kenny Omega gave the clearest indication yet that he’ll make his in-ring comeback at the event.
At NJPW Power Struggle, Omega cut a promo addressing his return potentially against one of the company’s young stars. However, things took a turn when the star made his way backstage. He ended up in an altercation with Gabe Kidd, and a brawl ensued. Since then, the pair have been taking shots at each other in the media, and it seems the threats are more than just talk.
In his latest interview, Omega said that if everything is worked out with NJPW management and fans want it, he’s prepared to wrestle Kidd on January 5th.
