CM Punk’s Role On Upcoming WWE Raw Announced

CM Punk will have a significant role on WWE Monday Night Raw following his shocking World Heavyweight Title loss at SummerSlam.

When CM Punk returned to WWE in November 2023 after nearly a decade away, he made it clear that one of his primary goals was to become a WWE World Champion again. Punk is now a 6-time WWE World Champion since he’s held three different versions of World Titles in the company.

At SummerSlam, CM Punk had a grueling, physical match with Gunther for the World Heavyweight Title, and Punk won the title after more than 30 minutes of action.

Unfortunately for Punk, his biggest WWE rival, Seth Rollins, showed up with the Money in the Bank briefcase and revealed that his right knee injury was fake. Rollins beat up Punk with the Money in the Bank briefcase, cashed in officially, hit The Stomp, and left as the World Heavyweight Champion.

What Rollins did is something that Punk also did earlier in his career, but it still was an emotional defeat for Punk, who only held the World Heavyweight Title for about five minutes.

On the Raw after SummerSlam, CM Punk waited over two hours into the show to get his revenge on Rollins by attacking Seth during his World Heavyweight Title defense against LA Knight. That didn’t sit well with Knight. Punk and Knight were eventually laid out by Rollins’ group, The Vision, which includes Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed. They also took out Roman Reigns.

CM Punk Will Address WWE SummerSlam Loss On Raw

Some analysts and fans criticized WWE for not allowing Punk to speak on Raw after SummerSlam, following his title loss. Considering Punk had his emotional moment taken away from him, fans likely wanted to hear him talk about what Rollins did to him.

It was announced during a commercial on WWE SmackDown in Montreal that CM Punk will kick off the August 11th edition of Raw with a promo to address what happened to him.
