CM Punk Going To WWE WarGames Thanks To Paul Heyman
Roman Reigns was in real trouble heading into WarGames but his Wise Man came to the rescue with an old friend as CM Punk returned to WWE SmackDown.
Thanks to Roman Reigns’ near four-year reign of terror as Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, it’s perhaps no wonder that he’s struggled to find four men to join him for WarGames against Solo Sikoa’s Bloodline.
Family matters have been pushed aside as Jimmy and Jey Uso have reunited with their cousin while Sami Zayn has also come back into the fold thanks to his friendship with Jey. But none of the OG Bloodline have been able to find anyone to stand beside them.
With Solo Sikoa recruiting Bronson Reed as his fifth man, many expected Seth Rollins – who has been in a heated feud with Reed – to put his own past issues behind him and join his former Shield brother but he steadfastly refused.
But thankfully a Wise Man had a plan.
Paul Heyman Leads CM Punk To War
On the 22nd of November edition of SmackDown, the two sides came face-to-face as Solo Sikoa told Roman Reigns it was time to accept defeat and join his side. As Reigns took the microphone, the distinctive voice of Paul Heyman could be heard as he re-introduced himself to the WWE Universe after he was viciously taken out by Sikoa’s crew.
Heyman noted that 5-on-4 for WarGames just doesn’t work and revealed he had a fifth man for Roman Reigns’ team – CM Punk. Punk made his entrance and the fight was on as Punk, Reigns, The Usos, and Zayn cleared the ring of The Bloodline. CM Punk and Reigns had an electric staredown as Punk pointed to Heyman noting it was thanks to his old advocate that he was there.
What Seth Rollins will make of CM Punk’s involvement in the match after turning down the chance to be part of it remains to be seen.
