CM Punk Names WWE Superstars He Wants To Wrestle

CM Punk

CM Punk wants to rekindle some old rivalries in WWE while also facing some newer opponents as well.

At WWE Bad Blood on October 5th in Atlanta, CM Punk will face his longtime rival Drew McIntyre in a Hell in a Cell match that will likely be the end of that rivalry.

While speaking about that Hell in a Cell match, CM Punk has gone on record saying he was prepared to die inside Hell in a Cell because of how much he hates McIntyre. It might be a bit much in terms of promoting the match, but it also shows how serious Punk is.

No matter who wins at Bad Blood, the assumption is that Punk and McIntyre will likely move on after their Hell in a Cell match. For Punk, it will be an opportunity to wrestle different people.

Due to the torn triceps injury he suffered at the Royal Rumble that caused him to miss six months of action, CM Punk has only wrestled two televised singles matches this year and both of them were against McIntyre. Punk did get to interact with some other WWE stars in the Rumble match, but he hasn’t wrestled any of them in a televised singles match.

Who Does CM Punk Want To Wrestle In A WWE Ring?

During his first WWE run from 2006 until his departure in early 2014, CM Punk wrestled many big names who he could still compete against like Randy Orton, John Cena, Rey Mysterio, Sheamus, and others. However, there are also a lot of new opponents that would present a fresh challenge for Punk.

While speaking to “The Hot Tag” on 103.5 KISS FM, CM Punk spoke about his past rivals still in WWE along with the newer stars that he wants to step into the ring with.

“It’s a fair mix of people that I’ve already been in the ring with and people I haven’t. Getting back in the ring with guys like Rey Mysterio or John Cena, Randy (Orton), Cody (Rhodes). There is fun stuff to do there.”

“Then there is the crop of people that I’ve never been in the ring with. Chad Gable is one that really sticks out. I like watching (Ludwig) Kaiser. I think he’s pretty incredible. Gunther, obviously. It’s a fair mix of people I have existed with in the past and people I haven’t even been on-screen with. I did some dark matches with Dominik and I think I could do some pretty great television with him. Him and Liv are spectacular.”

“Damian Priest is another one. I got a loose promise with him that me and him are going to main event the Garden. He was supposed to main event the Garden with a dark match, he had really bad flight trouble and didn’t make it. I owe him that. The answer is everybody.”

The next time WWE heads to Madison Square Garden is December 26th, so perhaps that can be when he faces Damian Priest in a match that could certainly main event a live event.
