CM Punk’s WWE Return Announced For Raw, Huge Grudge Match Added

CM Punk World Champion WWE

The World Champion CM Punk is expected to return to WWE Monday Night Raw after missing two episodes of the show.

In the main event of WWE Survivor Series WarGames in the Men’s WarGames match, the World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk was pinned by Bron Breakker, which meant Punk lost the match for his team.

It wasn’t a clean loss for Punk because a masked man climbed into the cage, kicked Punk, and hit The Stomp on Punk. Breakker capitalized on the situation by running the ropes and hitting a devastating Spear on Punk to get the pinfall win.

CM Punk hasn’t been on the two episodes of Raw since then. Punk missed the December 2nd episode, likely because his beloved dog Larry died just a day or two after Survivor Series. Punk wore a “Larry’s Dad” jacket at Survivor Series before he got into the ring, so he was likely very emotional at the time.

There was no CM Punk on the December 9th edition of Raw either because he was filming a Netflix film called “The Bodyguard.”

WWE Bringing Back CM Punk For Raw

During the December 12th edition of WWE SmackDown, a commercial aired promoting that CM Punk would be back on Raw for the December 16th episode of Raw in Hershey, PA.

WWE has already advertised a January 5th World Title match between CM Punk and Bron Breakker on Raw in Brooklyn. Since then, Breakker has taken shots at Punk by claiming that not only will he win the World Title, but maybe he’ll take Punk’s wife, AJ Lee, as well. That line likely makes things a lot more personal between Punk and Breakker, so expect Punk to fire back with a promo on Raw.

In addition to CM Punk returning to Raw, WWE has also announced a Logan Paul vs. Rey Mysterio match based on their interaction on the December 9th Raw that saw the masked man attack Rey to help Paul.

The advertised lineup for Raw on December 15th looks like this:

  • World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk returns
  • The New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods) vs. The Usos (Jey Uso & Jimmy Uso)
  • Rey Mysterio vs. Logan Paul
  • Women’s Intercontinental Championship: Maxxine Dupri (c) vs. Ivy Nile
