CM Punk Praised For Helping Younger WWE Talent
The WWE NXT Champion Trick Williams is grateful for CM Punk being a “very genuine” person.
In the main event of WWE NXT’s first show on The CW Network, Trick Williams regained the NXT Championship from his rival Ethan Page. The third man in the ring that night was CM Punk, who was in the role of the special guest referee.
After the match was over, Ethan Page complained about the refereeing, so CM Punk hit Page with a GTS, much to the delight of the crowd in Chicago.
Since returning to WWE in November 2023 after a decade away, CM Punk has been praised by many people as a locker room leader who has also enjoyed his time helping talent on the NXT brand.
When talking about CM Punk on the No Contest Wrestling podcast, NXT Champion Trick Williams had nothing but praise for the former WWE Champion.
“I didn’t meet CM Punk until after the rumors about his character were brought about from other places. I didn’t know what to expect when I met him, but all I’m gonna say is that dude, Punk, man, good dude, like, solid. You can just tell when some people are just genuine, and he’s very genuine.
He takes pride in helping us, the next generation, to become the superstars that we need to be. He gives us real advice, too. He talks about how to handle yourself, in the ring, outside the ring, with everything it takes to become a superstar.
Even closer to today’s time when we are dealing with different stuff, like social media and how to handle everything that comes with being a superstar in 2024 that other superstars didn’t really have to deal with all the way. He’s been very helpful for a lot of us.”
CM Punk Fights With Seth Rollins On WWE Raw
Following a big win at Survivor Series: WarGames, CM Punk wanted to move on during a promo on Raw, but he was interrupted by Seth “Freakin” Rollins. After Rollins spoke about how he wanted to kick Punk’s ass, Punk told Rollins he didn’t even think about him at all. Eventually, enough words were said that the two men had a brief fight that was quickly broken up.
It’s not yet known what is next for Punk in WWE, but a showdown with Rollins seems inevitable at this point.
