WWE Hall Of Famer Denies Having Issues With CM Punk

CM Punk

A WWE Hall of Famer has made it clear he has no problems with CM Punk.

When it comes to CM Punk, some people might consider him to be something of a heat magnet in pro wrestling. That’s because Punk has a reputation of somebody who rubs people the wrong way and sometimes that leads to issues with others in the pro wrestling business.

After spending two years in AEW, CM Punk was fired in part due to his second backstage fight that happened with Jack Perry. If everybody in AEW got along with Punk then he might still be there, but instead, he was fired and returned to WWE last November, which has led to many people saying Punk is back where he belongs due to his long history with WWE.

Recently, Punk’s good friend Ace Steel said this is what Punk’s return to wrestling was supposed to be. It was Steel’s way of explaining how happy Punk is in WWE these days.

This past week, CM Punk appeared on Monday’s Raw with a serious promo about his Hell in a Cell Match with Drew McIntyre. One day later at WWE NXT, Punk was in a more jovial mood as he revealed he would be the special guest referee for Ethan Page’s NXT Title match against Trick Williams on October 1st on NXT in Chicago.

Before Punk’s promo in the ring, he greeted WWE Hall of Famer and NXT announcer Booker T at ringside. While speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T made it clear that there are no issues between Punk and himself, despite what some people might think.

“I don’t know if you guys noticed on Tuesday night NXT, I ran into CM Punk. We had words. The thing is, it was refreshing. Let’s just say that. I know people were tripping when they saw that. The thing is, CM Punk and I never really had any beef. We really never did.”

“I know people really thought that when he was in AEW, but I don’t think CM Punk and I ever really had any beef. Did I say some things about CM Punk, specifically when he was in the UFC? Yeah, I did, but I don’t think I said anything derogatory or mean spirited towards CM Punk at all?”

“Even when he was in AEW, just like say for instance when he made his debut. I said the promo didn’t hit me properly. I said he could’ve did a little bit something, and that’s just constructive criticism. That’s not a knock or anything on CM Punk or anything like that.”

Booker T Credits CM Punk For Interacting With WWE Fans

While continuing to talk about CM Punk, Booker T would go on to say that he was impressed by Punk meeting NXT fans after the show.

“CM Punk did something at NXT this week that was refreshing as well. I wrapped up at the desk right, went to the bathroom, went back, talked to the boys, hung out a little bit in the back, and then I was leaving the arena. I had to walk right back through the arena.”

“When I walked back through, everybody was still in the arena. It was still packed, you know, jammed in there. I was like, ‘What the heck?’ I thought these people were going home. CM Punk stayed. It was just like trying to get The Undertaker to do the spinaroonie. It was one of those types of deals.”

“It was a moment that the NXT fans were going to get a chance to have for the rest of their lives, to think about that moment for the rest of their lives, you know, hanging out with CM Punk after the show. So I appreciate that.”

Up next for CM Punk in terms of matches will be the Hell in a Cell battle with Drew McIntyre at WWE Bad Blood on October 5th. It’s a loaded card, but at this point, that’s the only Hell in a Cell match and it could certainly be the main event as well.
