CM Punk Will Not Put Himself On Wrestling Mt. Rushmore
CM Punk has had a long, noteworthy pro-wrestling career, but he believes he shouldn’t put himself on a pedestal.
The Second City Saint signed with WWE back in 2005 and started working with Ohio Valley Wrestling. He worked with WWE till 2014, and controversially exited the company in the same year.
He returned to WWE in 2023 at Elimination Chamber. Since then, he has worked with the company’s top superstars, such as John Cena, Roman Reigns, and Seth Rollins, among others.
His most recent victory was against Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch in a Mixed Tag Team Match, where he partnered with his wife and former WWE Divas Champion, AJ Lee.
CM Punk details why he will not put his own name on the Mount Rushmore of Wrestlers
The Voice of the Voiceless appeared on Pardon My Take, where he was asked about the names he would add to the Mount Rushmore of Wrestlers, or rather “Six Grandfathers” to honor the original name. Interestingly, he did not put his own name on the list and detailed why.
Am I better than Steve Austin or Eddie Guerrero? I’ll never think that. I think I’m more apt to put myself ahead of my contemporaries, right? But the legends that I grew up watching, that I studied, that I learned from? No, I’m not better than those guys. [H/t: WrestlingNews]
CM Punk’s next rivalry following Wrestlepalooza is yet to be revealed. However, it is possible he will continue his rivalry with Seth Rollins while AJ Lee pursues the Women’s Intercontinental Championship.
