CM Punk Gives Honest Take On AJ Lee’s WWE Comeback
CM Punk’s return to WWE broke the internet. However, AJ Lee’s return to WWE sent a wave of excitement through the fandom because everyone knew the women’s roster was about to witness a change in power dynamics.
AJ Lee teamed up with The Second Saint against Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch for Wrestlepalooza, and Lee and CM Punk dominated The Man and The Visionary. Following that, she took time off WWE TV, but is now back!
She returned to cost Becky Lynch the Women’s Intercontinental Championship, for which The Man is seeking legal advice and threatening to sue WWE.
CM Punk is excited for AJ Lee to experience the new WWE
The Best in the World had left WWE in 2014, and he returned in 2023. Lee left WWE in 2015 and returned in 2025. When Punk returned, he experienced a new environment. He could point out the differences between Vince McMahon’s regime and Triple H’s regime.
While speaking on Mostly Sports With Mark Titus and Brandon Walker, CM Punk revealed that he was super excited for Lee to experience the changes and see the kind of influence she has had on the women’s roster.
Awesome. Super super awesome. I’m just excited that she gets to experience what a different place it is now and like how much it’s changed, and like how her influence has, you know, created all these other women to follow their dreams. Like it’s been amazing. It’s been fun.
She stuck around for like a year after I split. Um, so she was there throughout like 2014, and it was uh I mean, you know, it just it was more like high school, more like you had to, you know, constantly like watch your back, watch what you say. People are out to, you know, cut your throat and it’s just a lot of weird, mean-spirited high school hijinks, and now just, you know, like the locker room is more business-oriented, and I feel everybody celebrates everybody else’s victories.
