CM Punk Suffering After First Match With WWE Star In 21 Years

CM Punk WWE

CM Punk has sent a message to one of his WWE rivals after sharing the ring again after 21 years.

When the June 2nd edition of Raw kicked off, there were two spots available across the men’s and women’s Money In The Bank matches, but by the end of the night, the line-ups were complete.

The last qualifying match for the women’s Money In The Bank match on Raw featured Liv Morgan, Stephanie Vaquer, and Ivy Nile vying for the final spot. In the end, Vaquer picked up the victory, meaning she will feature in Money In The Bank for the very first time.

The last qualifying match for men’s Money In The Bank featured a huge shock as El Grande Americano faced off with two former WWE Champions in AJ Styles and CM Punk. Americano managed to pull off the upset to qualify for the ladder match on June 7th.

CM Punk Will Make Room For WWE Legend

Despite the disappointment of missing out on Money In The Bank, CM Punk has taken to social media to send a heartfelt message to AJ Styles after they shared the ring for the first meaningful time in 21 years, despite a boot print being left on Punk’s face:

[AJ Styles] I’ve got a lot on my plate right now but I’ll always make room for you. Thank you for the boot print on my nose. Let’s not wait 21 years for the next time. You’re a legend.

Although CM Punk and AJ Styles were both part of the 2025 Royal Rumble match, the last time they faced each other in a singles match was back in 2004 when Styles defeated Punk on an IWC show which also featured the future Corey Graves and Joaquin Wilde as well as the legendary Rock ‘N’ Roll Express.
