CM Punk Sends Support To Rey Mysterio After Punching Dominik
Dominik Mysterio finally pushed his father too far on SmackDown and received a smack in the mouth as a result, something that AEW star CM Punk thinks was great.
The problems began for Rey Mysterio at Clash at the Castle in September 2022 when Dominik Mysterio shockingly turned on his own father and joined The Judgment Day.
Despite Dominik’s frequent attacks, Rey Mysterio has refused to get physical with his son and refused Dominik when he challenged his father to a match at WrestleMania 39.
However, on SmackDown Dominik Mysterio went too far with the Mysterio family sitting at ringside. Dominik called his own mother a “deadbeat mom” before getting in his sister’s face. Rey Mysterio had been watching the disgusting actions and enough proved to be enough as he walked over and smacked his son in the mouth bringing the roof off the MGM Grand Garden Arena. Rey Mysterio then granted his son his wish by accepting a match at WrestleMania.
Taking to social media, Rey Mysterio noted that Dominik getting in his mom’s face was a step too far for him to witness:
“Every man had his limits… Don’t forget she’s not only your mother but my wife. See you at WrestleMania.”
CM Punk showed his support for Rey Mysterio with his response, noting that he’s wanted to land one on Dominik for years:
“Good for you Rey. I’ve wanted to punch him for 13 years!”
CM Punk and Rey Mysterio were involved in several feuds during their time together in WWE. The most high profile of which ended up with Mysterio shaving Punk’s head bald after he defeated him at Over The Limit in 2010. However, before that Punk actually shared a ring with Dominik Mysterio as he confronted Rey while he was with his whole family on SmackDown.
