CM Punk Refers To Recent “Cancerous” Claims
Former AEW World Champion CM Punk has seemingly alluded to the claims made by WWE star Seth Rollins that Punk was a “cancer” as he jokes with a current AEW star.
CM Punk has proved a controversial figure on a few major occasions throughout his career. The former WWE Champion famously walked out of WWE on the night after the 2014 Royal Rumble after growing increasingly frustrated by his creative direction.
He found a new home in AEW in 2021 but things soon turned sour there as well with Punk allegedly involved in a backstage fight with The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega following All Out in 2022. Punk has been absent from the company since due to an injury suffered in his All Out main event with Jon Moxley and his future in AEW remains uncertain leading to suspicion that he could eventually join WWE. But not everyone wants that to happen.
In an interview with Wrestling Inc.’s Nick Hausman ahead of the 2023 Royal Rumble, Seth Rollins has called CM Punk “a cancer” and warned him to steer clear from WWE. Whether this will elicit a response from Punk remains to be seen.
“Philly Phil, stay away. Stay away, you cancer, get away from me forever. I don’t like Phil. I don’t like Phil, he’s a jerk. Did we just figure that out? Everybody in the room is like, ‘did he say that?’ Yeah, he’s a jerk. Come on. We figured it out over there, we knew it over here. I don’t want him back. Go do something else. Bye bye. See you later.”
Now CM Punk has seemingly referred to this comment in a more humourous altercation with Danhausen on social media, writing:
“@danhausenad is cancerous to america and really didn’t pay for lemonade, he is blackballed – WON”
