CM Punk Confirms Plans For WWE WrestleMania 40

CM Punk

CM Punk has indicated that he still plans on being a part of WrestleMania 40 despite his injury that is keeping him out of a match on the show.

CM Punk has been out of action since getting injured in the men’s Royal Rumble match while taking a Future Shock DDT from Drew McIntyre. In the weeks since the incident, McIntyre has revelled in his new heelish persona taking credit for putting Punk on the shelf, repeatedly taking shots at the former AEW star on social media.

Prior to getting injured, CM Punk had been due to win the Elimination Chamber, before going on to face Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 40. In something of a twist of fate, Punk’s spot has been taken by McIntyre.

CM Punk Will Be At WrestleMania 40

It had already been confirmed that CM Punk will be on Raw when WWE’s flagship show returns to his hometown of Chicago on March 25th. However, it seems the former AEW World Champion will also be at WrestleMania.

In a video that aired on Raw in Raleigh, North Carolina, CM Punk was seen recovering from his injury as he noted the first four letters of WrestleMania’s host city are “Phil” which just so happens to be Punk’s real first name. He also noted that whether or not he was invited or uninvited, it didn’t matter when it came to CM Punk.
