CM Punk Pays Tribute To WWE Legend On RAW
CM Punk had his first title defense of 2026 on the first WWE RAW of the year.
He placed the World Heavyweight Championship on the line against Bron Breakker on the January 5th, 2026 edition of the show.
The feud had been brewing for a while, especially after Seth Rollins relinquished the championship, and somehow, Breakker believed he would be the next champion. However, he was not a participant in the tournament to choose the next champion and had to patiently wait for his turn.

Both Champion and Challenger brought their best to the match.
During the match, Bron Breakker pulled out the ‘Go To Sleep’ gesture to mock CM Punk. He picked up the World Heavyweight Champion on his shoulders and went for the GTS. The Best in the World countered it by tripping him and followed through by paying tribute to John Cena by using his signature submission lock, STFU, on Bron Breakker.

However, The Badass is as tough as it gets. He did not tap out; instead broke out of the submission hold.
CM Punk endured the fury of the entire Vision when Bronson Reed, LA Knight, and Logan Paul tried to influence the match, but Rey Mysterio, Penta, and Dragon Lee stopped them.
The Second City Saint pinned The Vision member to retain the World Heavyweight Championship.
