CM Punk and Drew McIntyre had one of the most notable and intense feuds in modern-day wrestling.

Punk returned to WWE during the 2023 Survivor Series: WarGames, much to the chagrin of several wrestlers, including McIntyre and Seth Rollins.

At the 2024 Royal Rumble, The Second City Saint tore his triceps. The Scottish Warrior added fuel to the fire by claiming that he prayed for Punk’s injury, subsequently trolling him relentlessly.

With Punk out of the picture, Drew went on to win the World Heavyweight Championship at WWE WrestleMania XL.

His celebrations, though, were cut short, as Damien Priest cashed in his Money in the Bank contract after CM Punk attacked McIntyre by the ringside.

The feud intensified there on, setting up a trilogy of speculation-laden matches.

At SummerSlam 2024, McIntyre defeated Punk, with Seth Rollins serving as the special guest referee.

They squared off again at Bash in Berlin in a Strap Match, which Punk won after going almost 20 minutes. Their trilogy closed off at Bad Blood in a Hell in a Cell match, which Punk won again.

CM Punk Honors Long-Standing Rival Drew McIntyre

On Friday night, Drew McIntyre became a WWE Champion for the 4th time by beating Cody Rhodes in a 3 Stages of Hell match in Berlin, Germany.

From Berlin, the talent flew to Glasgow, Scotland, for a Road to Royal Rumble show.

Like McIntyre, CM Punk is in the country, too, and he honored his long-standing rival in his own way.

Sharing an Instagram story, which showed him signing autographs, he chose McIntyre’s “Broken Dreams” theme song by Jim Johnston (feat. Shaman’s Harvest ) as his background music.

Meanwhile, CM Punk defended his World Heavyweight Championship on WWE Raw against Bron Breakker.

The January 12 episode of the red brand will be held in Düsseldorf, Germany, where Gunther will headline the show by going up against AJ Styles.
