CM Punk May Never Win Another WWE World Title

CM Punk upset

CM Punk won and lost the World Heavyweight Championship in a little over five minutes, sparking conversations about WWE’s stance on him having an actual world championship run.

At SummerSlam 2025, The Best in the World defeated Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship, but a returning Seth Rollins cashed-in his Money in the Bank contract against Punk.

The taste of victory lasted for mere moments before it took a sour turn for the former WWE Champion. However, that being said, it’s a given that CM Punk does want another world championship run.

WWE might not give CM Punk another World Title run

On The Coach and Bro, Jonathan Coachman and former WWE head writer Vince Russo discussed whether the global juggernaut would book The Second City Saint for another championship.

“I don’t know, coach. The way they give it to him and take it away. Does he have another title victory in him? I don’t think so”, said Vince Russo.

“At this point, I think the first thing he should start with is doing what Cena did. Color your hair. I don’t need to see all the greyness, and then you’re going to tell me that you are good enough and still young enough to be the world heavyweight champion.. It’s about perception to me”, added Jonathan Coachman.

It has also been speculated that CM Punk wants the Undisputed WWE Championship; hence, it is not surprising that WWE did not keep the World Heavyweight Championship on him very long.
