CM Punk Names Most Important Aspect Of Pro Wrestling

CM Punk

CM Punk thinks he has a good idea of what really is important in pro wrestling.

As a former WWE, ROH, and AEW World Champion who started as a pro wrestler over 20 years ago, CM Punk knows a thing or two about what it takes to be at the top of the business.

The future WWE Hall of Famer Punk has only had two televised matches in WWE this year with those matches coming at major shows Royal Rumble and SummerSlam. Despite that, many people would argue that Punk has had the best WWE feud of the year with his rival Drew McIntyre.

While CM Punk lost his match at SummerSlam to Drew McIntyre due to questionable refereeing from Seth “Freakin” Rollins, the rivalry is going to continue.

During the Fanatics Fest event in New York City, Punk was a guest on stage for The Masked Man Show where he said matter of factly that emotion is what matters in pro wrestling.

“Wrestling is about emotion. It’s not about the moves, it’s not about how long your match is, it’s not about your fancy coat you wear to the ring. All those things can add to it. But if you can’t get the people and the audience to move, you can’t get them to feel anything, none of it means anything.”

As he continued, Punk spoke about how much he’s enjoying his time in WWE.

“It’s very much a team sport, and everybody really feels, since coming back, everybody wants to see everybody else succeed, as to where I was before, I’m talking 10 years ago, there was a lot of people that just wanted to see everybody fail. [They wanted to] protect their spot, cut everybody else’s throat, and I don’t really feel that in the WWE locker room. It’s great.”
