CM Punk Makes WWE Royal Rumble Decision

CM Punk WWE

CM Punk won big when WWE debuted on Netflix but now he’s made his plans clear for the upcoming Royal Rumble.

CM Punk and Seth Rollins headlined WWE’s landmark show and was Punk’s first match on Raw since he defeated Billy Gunn in January 2014. Punk and Rollins battled for almost 20 minutes as the hatred between them seethed out during the bout. In the end, CM Punk hoisted Rollins in the air for two Go To Sleeps to pick up the win.

AEW fans tuned into the show might have had flashbacks when they saw CM Punk’s jacket that he wore to the ring as it appears to be the same “XXX” emblazoned one that he wore for his ill-fated AEW All In match in 2023 that proved he last in the company. CM Punk was fired for a backstage altercation with Jack Perry at that show.

CM Punk Eyes Up Royal Rumble Win

But rather than worrying about the past, Punk was looking to the future after WWE Raw went off the air. In a post-show interview with Jackie Redmond, CM Punk confirmed his intention to be part of the men’s Royal Rumble as he called out both World Heavyweight Champion Gunther and Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes:

46 [Punk’s age] is just a number. 1 through 30, just numbers. Royal Rumble, you’re next on the list. Gunther, I’m coming for you. Cody, I’m coming for you. I’m Mr. October. I’m Game 7. I am clutch. I am the best in the world.

John Cena vowed to win the Royal Rumble as he made his return to WWE and kicked off his final year as an in-ring competitor.
