CM Punk “Loves Wrestling” Says Dax Harwood

CM Punk

AEW star Dax Harwood has discussed former AEW World Champion CM Punk and says he talks to the star every day and hopes he finds happiness.

CM Punk might be on his way out of AEW following the alleged backstage fight at All Out but one of the highlights of his run in the company was undoubtedly his all-too-shortlived on-screen partnership with FTR.

The three men only officially teamed together once picking up a win in a trios match over Max Caster and The Gunn Club on Dynamite in June with a foot injury putting Punk on the shelf for several months the following week.

Speaking to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, Dax Harwood shared his thoughts on CM Punk and says he had his reservations before Punk joined the company but says he couldn’t have been more accommodating or helpful and that he deserves to find whatever brings him happiness:

“CM Punk, god dang. The same thing as Sasha [Banks], a man who obviously has his detractors, and sometimes the detractors… and not just in AEW, around the wrestling world, and sometimes the detractors are louder than him and get their news out more than he does. But again, it all comes from a place of passion.”

“When he first came into the company, I remember talking to Cash and I said, “If this motherf*cker comes in, and if he says something to me about how I dress, talking about dress code or whatever, we’re gonna have a problem.” And he came in and he was the complete opposite.”

“He had his door always open, invited people in, watched matches of the young wrestlers that asked him to, stuck around until the end of the show, and anybody that had questions he would answer the questions. He loves wrestling. He, again, just like me, unabashedly is a professional wrestling fan. Just like Sasha, I talk to him every day, and whatever he decides to do in his life I hope it brings him happiness and joy because he deserves it.”

Dax Harwood will compete in a huge first-time-ever singles match on Dynamite in Indianapolis when he takes on Bryan Danielson.
