CM Punk Lands New Movie Role

CM Punk

CM Punk has a new non-wrestling project.

According to a new report from the Hollywood Reporter, CM Punk will have a “key role” in the new horror thriller Night Patrol. Punk will appear alongside Justin Long, Jermaine Fowler, and RJ Cyler in the film directed and co-written by Ryan Prows.

David S. Goyer and Keith Levine are producing via Phantom Four Films, and they’ll be joined by Josh Goldbloom, James Harris, and Mark Lane.

Also starring are Dermot Mulroney, Freddie Gibbs, YG, Flying Lotus, Jon Oswald, and Nicki Micheaux.

The report provided the following plot synopsis.

In Patrol, an LAPD officer (Fowler) must put aside his differences with the area’s street gangs when he discovers a local police task force is harboring a horrific secret that endangers the residents of the housing projects he grew up in.

Long plays the officer’s partner, recruited as a legacy into night patrol. Cyler stars as the officer’s brother, who sees what he isn’t supposed to see, while Mulroney plays Long’s character’s father, a sergeant with many secrets. Punk rounds out the cast as the sergeant’s brutal right-hand man.

In a statement, Prows said fans aren’t ready for what they’re about to see.

“Audiences are not ready for how hard this movie goes. To shoot this script, with this cast, on location in Los Angeles, after such a long path to get here is nothing short of a dream,”

Back in June, it was reported that CM Punk had signed with the Paradigm Talent Agency. The agency now represents Punk in “all areas” as he looks toward “expanding his presence in entertainment.”

Paradigm’s client list has included the likes of Steven King, Sydney Sweeney, Antonio Banderas, and Billie Eilish among others. Punk is one of several WWE stars to join the agency in recent months.

CM Punk On WWE Hiatus

Following his brutal Hell In A Cell match with Drew McIntyre, CM Punk has taken a break from the ring. The match at Bad Blood was one of the most violent matches in recent WWE history with both men bleeding heavily. It was reported after the event that McIntyre required 16 staples to close a nasty wound on his head.

It’s believed Punk will miss Crown Jewel on November 2nd, before coming back into the mix at Survivor Series. There have been rumours that Punk will face Gunther at the event on November 30th.
