CM Punk Vs. Jon Moxley Title Unification Match Confirmed
The AEW World Championship unification match between CM Punk and Jon Moxley has been made official for the August 24th edition of Dynamite!
AEW World Champion CM Punk opened the August 17th edition of Dynamite with a microphone in hand and set his sights on former champion Hangman Adam Page. Punk challenged Hangman to a rematch there and then, but Page failed to appear.
Punk then turned his attention to the interim champion, Jon Moxley. the Voice of The Voiceless didn’t hold back, first calling Moxley the “third best man” in his own group and claiming that has become a theme in reference to Mox’s time in WWE as Dean Ambrose in The Shield.
Moxley didn’t take the comments lying down and stormed to the ring before accusing Punk of only coming to AEW as he had run out of money. He then mocked Punk’s injury record, and said that any fight he had left a long time ago.
Finishing his verbal assault, Moxley got physical and began a wild brawl by getting in the champion’s face. The two men were eventually separated by security.
"I am the heart and soul of this company and every time they call me 'Interim Champion' it makes me think of you and it makes me sick"

Later in the show, Moxley came back out to the ring and attacked Tony Nese before calling out Punk again. The champion didn’t hesitate to get back in front of the crowd and the two had to be pulled apart on more time.
Following the show, AEW announced the two would settle their differences in the ring on the next edition of Dynamite on August 24th.
